One-day insurance-approved Second-in-Command (First Officer) training conducted in our full-motion jet simulator.
An aircraft is not required for the insurance training course.

Operating as a Crew

Professional two-pilot operations depend on clearly defined responsibilities, standardized procedures, and disciplined communication.
Training includes:

  • Aircraft systems review
  • Crew Resource Management (CRM)
  • Aircraft monitoring and cross-verification
  • Standard callouts
  • Checklist discipline
  • Crew communication
  • Passenger briefings and cabin coordination
  • Normal, abnormal, and emergency procedures
  • Captain and First Officer responsibilities

Standardized procedures allow two pilots who have never flown together to operate safely and efficiently as a crew.

Optional FAA SIC Type Rating
This course is designed to satisfy insurance requirements for pilots serving as Second-in-Command (SIC).
Pilots who already meet the eligibility requirements of 14 CFR § 61.55 may choose to add an FAA Second-in-Command type rating for an additional fee.

Our Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE) can issue an FAA temporary airman certificate after verifying FAA eligibility.
